Joshua Johnson

Father, Owner/Broker, Coach, Volunteer, and Poker Player…

If I were to categorize myself with titles, it would be with the above. I have a passion for helping others. It is within that passion that I chose to enter the mortgage business. 

My background in finance originated at Capital One in 2011. My tenure ended in their Commercial Bank with me advising a diverse group of company CEO’s and CFO’s on how to better manage their cash flow cycles. My expertise surrounded products that assisted in providing different credit product float terms that would ultimately give our business partners the flexibility of managing their AR and AP files in a way that would make them more money. 

It was fun learning about business at Capital One, but I didn’t feel fulfilled in that role. I am now able to help and educate my neighbors and friends, and it feels great! My transition into mortgages came from my desire to get involved in my community right here at home, Virginia.

I coach varsity basketball as a volunteer at Thomas Jefferson High School in my spare time (Go Vikings!). I volunteered over 1000 hours in 2021! I don’t say that to brag, but I really am proud of that number! I also play a lot of basketball myself, and when I’m not on the court or coaching from the sideline, you can catch me at the poker table to take your shot! Good luck!

My #1 title is Dad. My 5-year-old starts kindergarten this year, and it is crazy how the time flies. She is always with me, so if we have a meeting or a phone call, don’t be surprised if she is there with us or if you can hear her in the background of our conversation! Gotta start ’em young!
